Are you tired of opening ResEdit or any other file editor program just to change a SimpleText document's file type to read-only? Do you want to be able to copy text from a read-only SimpleText document, only to find that you can't select any text? Or do you simply want to distribute a document in read-only format, yet don't know how to go about doing so? TextLock will do it all! It will convert SimpleText documents to and from read-only format, and is drag-and-droppable!
For those familiar with file types, TextLock simply changes documents with a file type of 'TEXT' to 'ttro', and documents with a file type of 'ttro' to 'TEXT'.
Instructions
• Simply drop a SimpleText document onto TextLock and the file will instantly be converted. If the file you chose was an editable SimpleText document, it will be converted to a read-only SimpleText document. If the document you chose was a read-only SimpleText document, it will be converted to an editable SimpleText document.
• If you drop a text file that was not created with SimpleText onto TextLock, TextLock will ask you if you wish to convert the document to a SimpleText document. If you choose to do so, TextLock will convert the document to a SimpleText read-only document.
• If you are using a word processor other than SimpleText (and it's likely you are), make sure the files you wish to convert are TEXT. Most word processors support an "export as TEXT" function. If the word processor you are using does not support this feature, that particular word processor might already save its documents as TEXT.

How was it created?
TextLock was created using Metrowerks' Codewarrior, DropShell 2.0, and the 6 lizards that sit on top of my monitor for inspiration. And I greatly thank everyone out there who is generous enough to distribute their source code! Without example code, it would have been nearly impossible to produce TextLock.
